Merino wool, grown by merino sheep, is much finer and softer, so it “doesn’t bite” like regular wool. Merino wool has a milder natural smell and at the same time has the same antiseptic features, that kills bacteria, which causes an unpleasant odor.
Ever since the 12th century, when the first sheep of this breed appeared, their fur has changed to adapt the harsh climate of mountainous terrain. Merino sheep can withstand temperatures from -20 C ° to +35 C °.
Merino wool, like other types of wool, has natural body temperature regulating features. Because the fabric “breathes”, it provides comfort in all seasons. When hot, wool fiber absorbs moisture from your body and evaporates it, making you feel pleasant and cool. However, in winter, wool is able to generate heat, so it is used and highly valued for many years.
